Osteopathy can safely and effectively treat the elderly and children. What to expect from your osteopathic consultation An osteopath will obtain a thorough medical case history. This will investigate on the presenting symptoms of the complaint, previous medical and family histories, and trauma experienced. This will be followed by an osteopathic assessment. The patient will be instructed to perform simple movements in order to evaluate mobility and dysfunction. Neurological and orthopaedic tests may be conducted to assess the patient’s health in detail. If further investigations are required about your health you will be recommended to seek your medical practitioner. The duration of the osteopathic consultation will approximately take 30 minutes to 1 hour. Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners and therefore you do not require a referral from your GP to visit and Osteopath.
George Asproukos is a government registered and experienced osteopath. George completed a 5 year University degree receiving the Bachelor of Applied Science degree (Osteopathy) followed by a Masters of Osteopathy programme in Sydney, Australia During 2002-4 George was the sports physician for the Petersham Soccer Club and the Sutherland Star Sharks in the NSW State Soccer League. George is a late starter and a relative novice to the world of road cycling, however he has taken to the sport with great enthusiasm and looks forward to continuing this new found passion.
