Testimonials: from ciclismo tours 2011 Santos Tour Down Under Thanks for an unforgettable 4 days of cycling in Adelaide. There have been so many highlights each topped off with another starting from having Lance signing my cap, through to riding the community challenge, then Willunga Hill viewing of the tour and the legends dinner, not to mention at the finishing straight in Adelaide soaking in the atmosphere, oh, and the ride on Sunday morning to corkscrew road, I feel very much part of the crew at Ciclismo and have made great friends over the few days. Jack, Perth What an awesome trip I had at this year's 2011 TDU. I had the best time. Having never experienced an international Racing event before, it exceeded any expectations I had. From the great accommodation, the supported rides, organisation of transport to see TDU stages, to the service of being picked up and dropped off from the airport. Loved every bit. Big thanks to Daniele, Anna and Robert for organising it. Keep up the good work, and I hope to join you again and hopefully at the Giro too. Davide, Sydney The cycle tour to the Tour Down Under with Ciclismo gets better each year.Where else can you get transport to and from the stages and parking within the official finishing area. It brings you closer to the teams and the riders than you might think is possible. (Except of course the obligatory drink at the Hilton Hotel each evening). The Club Tour provides you with entry to stands located on the start and finish line – fully catered with both drink and food and other cycling tragics to mix with, not to mention the evening meal at the tour village with the voices of cycling (Liggett and Sherwen). The Ciclismo ‘Crew’ lead supported rides each day. The rides are well thought out and allow you to experience sections of the stages that the Tour Down Under the professional riders will be competing on. These groups are disciplined and provide a safe way to experience the scenery (and the hills) that surround Adelaide. It’s a great way to build up to the Community Challenge. I will be back next year – that is of course unless I go to (with Ciclismo) to experience Italy and the “Giro”. TA, Sydney Thanks for a terrific tour - we both had a fantastic time and can't wait to do it again. David & Katie, Brisbane Italia 2010 "An experience of a lifetime is the only way to describe this magnificent journey ! I was fortunate enough to have joined Daniele and his team in the 2010 Tour of Italy. Not only was this an opportunity to experience cycling at its best but it was an opportunity to fulfill one of life's dreams. Ciclismo Cycling Tours planned this journey to perfection ! Daniele's attention to detail and years of experience enabled us to cycle through the beaches of San Benedetto Del Tronto, the rolling hills of Tuscany, to conquer mountain passes of the Dolomites and Bormio and to finish off in Lecco on the the beautiful Lake Como. Through all of this we also managed to view four live stages of the Giro d'Italia and visit some Italy's most treasured places. The selection of accommodation and the amazing culinary experiences completed this package. I could not have wished for any more. For me not only was this trip a well deserved holiday it was a mental, physical and emotional challenge that has taken me and my cycling to another level. I would highly recommend Ciclismo Cycling Tours if you are looking for a cycling holiday. I look forward to joining Daniele and his team again. Ciao, Signore" (Cameron Lang) Tour Down Under
Absolutely Brilliant!!! From the moment we got off the plane every minute of the day was planned to perfection. Organised events and spare time were well balanced with options provided as appropriate. The daily rides were just awesome, with key support vehicles and timing worked out to a T. The team were friendly and attentive, making you feel like one of the family. Thanks for an awesome experience. Cheers Hylton
To whom it may concern, I participated this year in 4 days of Daniele Vanolini’s Ciclismo Tour Down Under which included the Friday Mutual Challenge Charity ride and watching the Tour Down Under on the other days with wonderful rides each day. Daniele and his team were highly organised, professional, fun - yet with a very strict code of cycling ethics which they coached us in. All questions regarding cycling and racing were answered expertly. His depth of knowledge regarding cycling and racing and his love of the sport is exemplary. I came away from the experience wanting to do very tour Daniele ever organises and enjoyed the holiday to the utmost. I would HIGHLY recommend him as a Tour operator. His knowledge of Adelaide was fantastic. The places he recommended to eat were brilliant and the accommodation organised by him was great. There was nothing that could be improved. Yours sincerely, Sarina
“I attended the Ciclismo Tour Down Under 2009 and would have to say it was one of the most enjoyable organized weeks of riding I have experienced – all we had to do was enjoy ourselves, everything else having been taken care of! Starting with our accommodation which was of excellent quality and a great location – very important after a long ride; the riding was exceptional – we had very experienced coaches allocated to each group ensuring the safety and enjoyment for all level of riders - the rides were designed to increase in distance and challenge to build up to the Challenge ride which was toward the end of the week – the routes chosen ensured we enjoyed spectacular scenery across a mix of terrains which challenged even the most experienced of riders but did not intimidate the less experienced. We would always leave Adelaide early in the morning and take routes out of the city to avoid heavy traffic, all our coffee stops were very organized with our tour leader having pre-organized with cafes to cater for larger groups beforehand and an expected time of arrival. We had a support van with us at all times and a mechanic. We were also able to attend the dinner with Lance Armstrong which was a great highlight and finish to an exceptional week of carefully planned riding. Another great attraction was for the non riders amongst us (many riders have partners who don’t ride) - they enjoyed themselves very much and did not feel left out in any way – another highlight being the first night where we were taken to Lofty House for a wonderful dinner which was a great start to many friendships being formed. All in all it was an exceptional week of riding where you could challenge yourself or have a relaxing ride, great accommodation, wining & dining. A sign of the success of the Ciclismo Tour is that people are still reminiscing and looking forward to next year’s tour!” Julie I was privileged to attend the Tour Down Under with Ciclismo in January 2009. Daniel Vanolini was a fantastic tour operator. We had glorious rides in Adelaide and the environments (including hills) and managed to view each stage of the TDU. Our accommodation was clean, comfortable and very close to the "action". We were able to make use of the many restaurants in the area of the Convention Centre, and attend the Legends Dinner. Daniel Vanolini's rides were well structured, catered for many standards, with ride captains and support vehicles and safety of paramount importance. The highlight for me was riding the 160km stage, completing it, and having the support team of Ciclismo waiting for us at the end to ferry us back to our hotel. I can highly recommend Ciclismo to any cyclist of any level who wishes to view and or participate in the Tour Down Under. Kerry
Great time, lots to do, with a mix of cycling as well as enjoying SA scenery The tour was well organised and well planned with each day catering for the cyclists and their better halves (the non riders). The approach was to ride into the tour – with the rides across the country side outside Adelaide becoming a little harder each day. The rides themselves covered parts of the tour rides. This worked well for the Mutual challenge, which I can say was a long day in the saddle but lots of fun. The tour group itself was a great group – with a mix of skill levels and fitness and personnel from as far afield as Dubai and Canada. The tour leaders managed this mix very well. On most of the rides at least one of the Ciclismo vans accompanied the cyclists, providing support , and the necessaries water and food. On the rode there were typically three groups, each with a trained cycle leaders (an accredited coach) with each group on the road. No one got left behind Overall great riding and a great experience. See you in January 2010
Tony
